I am a self taught artist who has practised and honed my skills over the years in between ‘life’.

I attended life drawing sessions, studied books and watched videos created by artists, sketched away with a biro (a preferred drawing medium) and experimented with oil paints, all in any few precious spare moments I could find.

My interest in the human face and the stories behind the sitter became my focus and I began creating almost exclusively portraits. My focus intensified further into creating works that honoured women who were forging pathways for change. Those people who advocated the sharing of power and held each other up.

I had a desire to be part of that change. To use my skills, time, focus to hold up women for the recognition of their strengths, skills, contributions, determination, and bravery.

The portraits of some of these women have been hung as finalist and semi finalist works in prizes including the Doug Moran and BP Portrait.

I strive to produce more skilled and beautiful works that honour and represent the sitter and their story. The journey continues…
